An Instagram user recorded this video of the incident on January 27:
The video begins with the ski lift stopped and the girl hanging from her seat. A group of people are below, preparing to capture her, and after that she drops to the ground.
The person who posted it wrote, “The ski patrol failed this woman today, absolutely missing out on capturing her with the internet after persuading her whatever was alright … Massive needs to do much better!”
The ski resort did speak to local media and stated this about the occurrence:
“As the chair started its ascent, the visitor, who for unknown factors was not entirely seated, started moving off the chair. The other people on the chair grabbed hold of the visitor and held her from falling as lift operators stopped the lift.”
They went on to say, “Our thoughts are with the visitor and her family.”
