On Thursday morning, an SUV with five people inside careened off the road in Yellowstone National forest and crashed into a hot, acidic geyser. Everybody made it through with non-life-threatening injuries. The car sank under nine feet of hot water before crews pulled it out.
In a news release from Yellowstone, park officials say the crash occurred at the Semi-Centennial Geyser thermal feature near Roaring Mountain in between Mammoth Hot Springs and Norris Junction. There’s currently no details about how or why automobile left the road in the first location.
Yellowstone states all 5 people inside the automobile had the ability to get to safety without assistance.
