‘When in a Life time’: See This Internet User Get Air With a Breaching Whale

If you’ve ever been surfing, you understand there’s a great chance you’ll see some type of wildlife. Whether that’s a pelican drifting nearby or a dolphin or two. However, one surfer in South Africa handled the perfect synchronized minute with a whale, as both got huge air.

Brianna Cope just recently shared this video:

In the clip, you see Cope strike a wave and spin while a whale breaches the coast at the same time. You can see Cope’s look of shock and amazement as she recognizes what just took place.

Cope is an expert web surfer from Hawaii. In 2015, she spent time in South Africa, where professional photographer Alex Hayes.

Cope discussed the video, stating, “Just me & a good friend. Nature is fantastic. There are a lot of reasons why the ocean is my preferred place, and this is one of them.”

In another comment, she responded, saying the minute was “when in a life time, I think.”

Wildlife authorities say whales breach like this to communicate with other whales in their pod. Scientists think a bigger splash sends a message further and can reach more whales. Typically, whales like humpbacks need to concern the surface every 7 to 15 minutes.
