Sadly for the coyote (and luckily for the cat), there was an infant gate in the way. In a Ring camera video, you can see the coyote choose the kill and slam face first into a baby gate, twice. Whoops.
The video originates from Objective Viejo, California. Property owner Cindy Stalnaker told KTLA 5 News that she and her husband were enjoying TV late on Monday evening when they heard a “loud bang.” When they went to investigate, the couple saw muddy paw prints on the porch and pathway.
“We right away closed the door and turned on our phones to take a look at the Ring videos,” Stalnaker informed KTLA 5.
In the video, you initially glance a house feline sitting behind an infant gate on high alert. An unknown animal sits around the corner, also on high alert. After numerous suspenseful moments of time out, the coyote bolts for the cat, but doesn’t anticipate a gate to be in the way. The coyote knocks face initially into the infant gate. Baffled, the coyote rallies and attempts again, as soon as again slamming into eviction.

Stalnaker stated the coyote’s aggressiveness surprised them. “Luckily, the coyote didn’t jump [eviction],” she told KTLA. The couple prepares to install a security door.
