12-Year-Old Angler Makes Catch of a Life Time in Arizona

2 young anglers spending some time outdoors in Arizona got back with an amazing memory– an once-in-a-lifetime catch. Gabe Drews and a friend were fishing at Chaparral Lake near Drews’ Scottsdale home when Drews caught an uncommon albino catfish. The young boys took some photos with the special fish before releasing it back into the lake.

Local report that Drews was fishing with some talented bait from a fellow angler he and his buddy satisfied at the lake. “It was catfish guts and blood and mixed with bread,” Drews informed 12 News. “And it’s truly smelly, so the fish like it.”

Drews reports that he cast his line out 30-40 feet in the middle of the lake when he snared the albino catfish. After reeling it in, commemorating, and taking an image with his treasured catch, Drews sent out the white fish back on its method, possibly for another fortunate angler to capture in the future.

The Arizona Video Game and Fish Department informed 12 News that an albino catfish is “definitely not common,” however that there’s always an opportunity one of these uncommon fish will wind up equipped in Arizona’s community waters. For this young angler, his line was in the right place at the correct time, and it deepened his love for fishing.
