View an Infant Tree Kangaroo Stick Its Head out of Mommy’s Pouch

An infant Matschie’s tree kangaroo stuck its go out of its mommy’s protective pouch, sniffed around, and after that nuzzled with mama before going back inside. The charming interaction between a mama and her joey at the zoo isn’t something most people would otherwise see.

“Born at the end of December, the joey was the size of a human thumbnail, however currently the child is poking its go out from its mom’s pouch!” Bronx Zoo says in the video’s caption on Instagram. “After about 7 months, it will emerge totally, returning often to the pouch to nurse.”
