The wolf is too weak to do more than bare its teeth. It’s the current twist in a story that keeps getting weirder and more disturbing.
Roberts, 42, supposedly ran over the wolf with a snowmobile and then brought it to his home and to a local bar with its muzzle taped shut as it gradually died of its injuries. This took place at the very end of February, however pictures and videos of the event have been emerging and getting prevalent attention online.
Recently, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department officially acknowledged the situation, validating that the department had actually mentioned a private “for a misdemeanor infraction of Wyoming Video game and Fish Commission policies, Chapter 10, Importation and Possession of Live Warm-Blooded Wildlife.”
The fine was, obviously, $250. Lots of believe Roberts needs to deal with a steeper charge. (Some have actually even started petitions.)
Gray Wolves Classified as Predatory Animals
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says this occurred in a part of the state where gray wolves are legally classified as predatory animals. The statement reads: “Predatory animals are not handled by the department and animal ruthlessness laws, per Wyo. Stat. Ann. 6-3-1008 (a)(vii) do not use to predatory animals.”
In the wake of all the limelights, the Wyoming Video Game and Fish Department says it got “a significant quantity of telephone call, e-mails and social media messages including the belongings of a live wolf in Sublette County.”
Brian Nesviksays, director of Wyoming Game and Fish, stated: “The actions and habits of the private associated with this case are not reflective of Wyoming’s worths for wildlife. The actions that came to light in this case were disrespectful to wildlife. These actions were not in keeping with preservation concepts or ethical behavior. This occurrence casts a shadow over our state’s tested performance history in effectively and properly managing our gray wolf population.”
