< img src= "https://savageventures.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/wolves-cover.jpg?w=1200" alt="" > Colorado wildlife authorities on Wednesday launched an upgraded map revealing gray wolf activity in the state over the previous thirty days. According to the release, a significant upgrade since publishing the monthly information is that there have been no wolf mortalities in Colorado and no reported livestock depredation.
Compared to last month’s information, the map shows gray wolves expanding their area, extending further west past Rio Blanco and near Moffat.
However, one of the collars enabling researchers to track the wolves via GPS information is no longer offering a signal, but they verified that the animal is taking a trip with another wolf with a functional tracker.

The effort involved catching gray wolves in other states and launching them in Colorado with the hopes of producing an irreversible and self-reliant wolf population.
Up until now, officials have launched 10 wolves but are tracking a minimum of 12. They prepare for the wolf population to grow as big as 30 or 50 in 3 to 5 years.
