The park stays closed today, and they state they are monitoring the situation for when they can reopen.

“We will continue to closely follow the guidelines and recommendations of the authorities, working collaboratively with them to monitor the development of events,” wrote park officials on their site. “This commitment lines up with our undeviating devotion to ensuring the security and health and wellbeing of our valued visitors and personnel.”

Heaven Lagoon is a massive swimming pool where the temperature level relaxes 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Visitors from all over the world go to every year, as the destination is simply a short drive from the country’s primary city of Reykjavik and close to the international airport.

Media reports state the volcano that is emerging took off for the third time given that December. The lava flow blocked roads and ruined a pipes, cutting off water supply and heat to one neighborhood. Thankfully, no individuals are in any danger at this time.
