Big Rig Swept Away by Flood in Texas, More Flooding Possible

Much of southeast Texas are under a flood watch today, with compulsory evacuations along the East Fork of the San Jacinto River. After the tornado outbreak in the Midwest and Great Plains last week, it appears the U.S. can’t catch a break from severe weather condition.

Yesterday, flood waters in Livingston, Texas swept an eighteen-wheeler right off the freeway– with the chauffeur still inside. Onlookers dropped in their tracks by the flooding captured the minute on video.

In the clip, you can see the semi-truck lose control and begin wandering horizontally as it angles and partially sinks into the water. A male in a fluorescent t-shirt climbs out of the motorist’s side and sits helplessly on the hood as his truck drifts throughout the highway.

Individuals on dry land on the other side of the roadway can’t reach him, however they chew out the man to go out. Other automobiles, consisting of other big rigs, continue to drive through the flood waters as the scene unfolds.

Meteorologists state there are strong jet stream winds over Texas this week, which can morph into thunderstorm complexes. According to ABC 13 News, “another complex could be en route for Friday afternoon.”
