Kaley Beausoleil is a wildlife professional photographer who’s not afraid to call out other professional photographers who make bad options to get a good shot. While at Yellowstone National Forest, Beausoleil tape-recorded a group of people photographing grizzly bears from close range. She claims they’re all way too near the grizzly. And we concur.
In Beausoleil’s video, you can see a line of individuals along a road, standing outside their parked cars. They’re seeing three grizzly bears as they graze nearby. The grizzlies do not seem to care that they exist, but that might have changed anytime.
One grizzly in particular moves better and closer to the road and the glaring crowd throughout the video. One man in the pack of people that Beausoleil zooms up on from her spot throughout the road has the good sense to draw back away, and then the other individuals follow suit … other than for that a person professional photographer who gets in the frame and settles in for the shot.
“I’m specifically mad at the professional photographer,” Beausoleil wrote. “You wish to be a professional? Imitate one! Teach individuals to regard wildlife and give them area.”
The National Park Service (NPS) advises that visitors stay a minimum of 100 yards (300 feet) far from predators like bears and wolves. While we can’t distinguish the video exactly how close these folks were to the closest grizzly, it sure wasn’t 300 feet.
While at Yellowstone National Park, a visitor taped a group of individuals who got method too near a grizzly bear for some pictures.
