They’re grown now, and their keepers wished to provide something fascinating in their area that might hold water. Enter the clawfoot tub, and let’s simply say, those grizzly bears are big fans of it.
The bears even like to being in the clawfoot tub while it’s empty. Tracy Reynolds, animal care manager of the BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops, British Columbia, states staff tried putting a plug in the tub so it would hold water, but the bears pulled the plug out within 24 hr.
“They just like sitting there in the tub, relaxing in the tub,” Reynolds states. “They are probably one of the most amusing animals that I have experienced here at the park for sure.”
In an interview with CBC News, Reynolds stated the two bears tend to be pretty patient with each other and do not fight over the tub. Nevertheless, the bears enjoyed the first tub a lot that staff have since provided the bears a 2nd tub, so they no longer need to share.
In a YouTube video from CBC News, you can see the bears delighting in the tubs (and bubbles). They appear like they’re caring life.
