Lake Roosevelt National Entertainment Location

Evans Campground, is located along the northeastern coastline of Lake Roosevelt. The website is long and narrow, an orientation that allows for a fantastic, clear view of the lake from every vantage point. There are 44 individual campsites.

Lake Roosevelt is a 130-mile lake on the Columbia River developed by the Grand Coulee Dam. Named after President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it becomes part of the Lake Roosevelt National Entertainment Area and handled by the National Park Service.

Evans is a booking just camping area. It can be reserved all year. However, the sites are not raked in the winter season time. There are picnic tables, drinking water offered seasonally. Fire pits, water gain access to and play area lie within the facility.

2024 Total Fire Limitations in Result at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area

Coulee Dam, WA– Due to extreme conditions, all fires at Lake Roosevelt National Entertainment Area are prohibited reliable 12:01 am, Thursday, July 11, 2024, up until additional notice. No open flames are allowed. This consists of, but is not restricted to, all fires in NPS provided fire rings and boxes, shoreline fires, charcoal fires, tiki torches, incense burners, candle lights, pellet smokers, and lp campfires. Only self-contained gas or gas stoves and lanterns are allowed throughout the complete fire ban.

The burn ban helps to reduce the chance of human-caused wildfires throughout extended high summer season temperature levels. Usage care when cigarette smoking and do not discard cigarette butts. Discharging, or using any type of fireworks, tracer ammunition or other incendiary gadgets in any location on federal lands is always forbidden.

Need to Know

Reservation only campground. No first come available.
There are no electricity, water or drain site connections.
Flush toilets are available and water faucets turned on May 1st to September 30, weather condition permitting.
Lake level may impact the water system.
Pets are permitted and must be limited at all times.
No off-road automobiles allowed.
No off-road parking; park in designated locations just.
No metal detectors or collecting artifacts enabled.
Bring verification with you. Transfer the confirmation info onto the green slips situated at the Fee Board as you enter the camping site. Hang completed tag at your website.
No generator usuage throughout our Quiet Hours of 10PM – 6 AM.
Fires are allowed in the fire rings year-round, other than when the fire risk score reaches a crucial level as indicated by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources for the location that includes Lake Roosevelt NRA.
Do Not Move Firewood: Assist secure our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by acquiring fire wood near your location and burning it on-site. Moving fire wood is prohibited in some states. Check out dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
Weekly Boat Launch Licenses must be purchased on line at https://www.pay.gov/public/form/start/656441199. Please purchase prior to your journey. Annual Boat Release Permits are available personally by supplier only.

Natural Features

Evans supplies adequate shade with thick forests of ponderosa pine, douglas fir and maple trees. The lake location is abundant with wildlife, consisting of moose, elk and deer. Many bald eagles have actually been spotted around Evans, and dozens of species of fish occupy the lake, such as walleye, bass, rainbow trout, salmon and sturgeon. Fishing for sturgeon is now enabled throughout a short season. Much of the water in the stems from glaciers and snow in the cold, high Canadian Rockies, though temperatures are pleasant to swim in throughout summer season.

Neighboring Tourist attractions

The historic St. Paul’s Mission, which is run by the National Park Service, lies about eleven south of the campground in the town of Kettle Falls. Likewise in the location are Fort Colville and the Hudson Bay Company Post on the Upper Columbia. St. Paul’s Mission. Sherman drive, a scenic loop, is nearby.

Recreation

The boat launch provides year-round access to the lake. Boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing are activities that can quickly occur from the camping site. Campers may also delight in unwinding and taking in the stunning view or participating in academic ranger programs.

Late Cancellations or Cancellations within the Cut-off Window

Private Campsites: A consumer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service charge AND forfeit the opening night’s usage charge (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will surrender the whole quantity paid and will not be subject to an additional service charge.

Driving Directions

Take Washington state Highway 395 north from Spokane. Travel 70.3 miles to the town of Kettle Falls, take Highway 25 north and travel 11 miles. Follow indications to the campground. It is on the west side of the highway.
