In a short clip shared with CBS Boston by Patrick Coyle, a security video camera captures the moment 3 coyotes surround a pet near its owner’s house. The 3 coyotes are light brown, and the family pet dog has dark-colored fur.
The canine barks consistently and dodges the coyotes as they lunge for it. The coyotes combat the pet back so it’s nearly offscreen, but then they turn and leave as the canine continues to sound the alarm by barking. Did the canine frighten them off, or did something else scare them into leaving?

Eastern Coyotes in Massachusetts
The eastern coyote lives throughout most of Massachusetts and prospers in rural, city, and rural areas. Coyotes will eat almost whatever’s offered to them, consisting of little animals, fruit, garbage, and animal food.
