
Introduction Tanners Flat Camping area lies in scenic Little Cottonwood Canyon at an elevation of 7,200 feet, simply 6 miles from Sandy, Utah. The canyon provides numerous treking and cycling opportunities.Recreation Treking and mountain biking trailheads can be found throughout the canyon. Hikers delight in Red Pine Lake, White Pine Lake and Maybird Gulch, all beautiful hikes leading to alpine lakes. Mountain bikers enjoy the Cottonwood Creek Trail and Albion Meadows Path. Little Cottonwood Creek offers good trout fishing and is a preferred amongst regional fly-fishermen. Facilities The camping area includes 31 single websites, three double sites, 4 over night group websites and an amphitheater. The family and over night group sites have picnic tables and campfire rings. The group overnight sites also have grills and serving tables. The amphitheater has benches and a discussion location, however does not have tables or a fire ring. The amphitheater is available in four hour blocks(8am-12pm, 1pm-5pm, 6pm-10pm). Flush and vault toilets are offered, as is consuming water. A volleyball court is offered however campers need to bring their own net and ball. Fire wood is offered for buy from the host. Roads and parking spurs are paved. __ Natural Features The camping site is set amongst a forest of shady pine, aspen, oak and maple trees. Vivid summer wildflowers are plentiful, and fall leaves placed on quite a show. Little Cottonwood Creek runs along the edge of the campground.Nearby Attractions Little Cottonwood Canyon is a gorgeous area known for its skyrocketing peaks, distinct geology, beautiful surprise lakes and cascading streams. Many hiking and mountain biking routes remain in the area.
Rock climbing up is a popular activity also. Snowbird Resort is a few miles up-canyon, offering beautiful tram rides, treking, mountain cycling, restaurants, groceries, an Alpine Slide, zip line trips, shows and various celebrations. Albion Basin, part of Alta Ski Resort just a few miles even more up-canyon, hosts the Wasatch Wildflower Celebration yearly in late July/early August, complete with assisted nature walks. Group Day Usage Location: If a client cancels a group day utilize facility booking within 14 days of the arranged arrival date, they will surrender the overall day use charge with no service charge charge. No-Shows Outdoor Camping/ Day Usage: A camping no-show consumer is one who does not get to a camping area and does not cancel the booking by check-out time on the day after the set up arrival date. Booked camping sites and group over night centers will be held till check-out time on the day following your arranged arrival. Group day-use facilities will be held till check-in time on your scheduled arrival date. If a client does not come to the campground or group facility by check-out time the day after arrival or does not cancel the reservation by the times listed under”Late Cancellations”above, the customer may be assessed a$20.00 service fee and surrender use charges. Refunds Consumers need to request refunds no behind 14 days after the scheduled departure date. Recreation.gov will not grant refund demands after 14 days of departure. Reservation Fee: For some centers, trips or allows an additional booking fee is charged. For some overnight and day-use centers, an additional non-refundable appointment fee might apply. The non-refundable booking fee for tours and tickets is $1.00. The non-refundable reservation cost for authorizations differs by place. Refunds for Bankcard Purchases: Refunds for bank card payments will be released as a credit to the original bank card. Refunds for Inspect or Cash Purchases: Refunds for Recreation.gov payments made by check or cash order, and cash payments at chosen camping areas will be issued a check refund. A refund will be processed within one month of receipt and approval. Please Note: Refund requests made during or after departure can just be processed when authorized by the center management staff based upon regional policy. Refunds for Emergency Closures: In case of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team will attempt to alert users and offer alternate dates (as proper). If this is not possible, reservations will be cancelled and all charges paid will be refunded. Appointment costs free of charge tickets are non-refundable in the event of an emergency situation closure.
