WATCH: Giant Octopus Hugs a Lady’s Leg

It’s not every day that a huge Pacific octopus, the biggest recognized octopus types worldwide, shows up and give your leg a hug. That occurred to Catherine (surname unknown), an amateur wildlife videographer, octopus fan, and @ogdensnapsyyj on Instagram. The experience left her wanting more.

The video, probably from Ogden Point just beyond Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, shows a giant Pacific octopus method the female as she movies. Octopuses wonder, intelligent animals, and though they do have strong suckers and a sharp beak, they aren’t generally aggressive toward human beings.

This one actually wished to examine Catherine out. It covered numerous of its arms (octopuses have eight arms and zero tentacles) around among her legs, and Catherine admits she’s terrified. She even asks the octo not to harm her.

It does not, the good news is.

Octopuses utilize their suckers to explore the world around them. In truth, they taste with their arms. For that reason, this interaction was most likely simply an octopus questioning who was hanging out in its spot.
